Education

Boca Raton's student population is served by the excellent schools of the School District of Palm Beach County, a public district. Students are zoned to four high schools, five middle schools, and twelve elementary schools. Additionally, several private schools are also available throughout the community and county for those who are seeking alternatives to public education.

As far as higher education goes, students have many options whether they're looking to attend a state college, university or trade school. Local institutions of higher learning include Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, Palm Beach State College, Digital Media Arts College, and Everglades University. Many residents enjoy living in Boca Raton thanks to community's dichotomous beach and college town atmospheres.

Economy

Boca Raton's local economy is strong and thriving, which shouldn't be surprising as the city is very business friendly, making it an ideal community for professionals. One of the largest employers in the city is Office Depot. Office Depot's global headquarters are actually located here in Boca Raton. Along with Office Depot, other companies such as Luxury Resort, BMI Gaming and Vitacost are headquartered here.

Other top employers in Boca Raton include Florida Atlantic University, the City of Boca Raton, IBM, The Continental Group, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, and Boca Raton Resort, among others.

Parks and Beaches

Boca Raton is known for having some of the best beaches along the east coast. Far from the reaches of everyday city life, residents can relax on over two miles of sand, enjoy the waves, catch some rays and read a good book under the shade of their umbrellas here. In addition to the beaches, Boca Raton's residents can take advantage of the city's three local parks: South Beach, Red Reef Park, and Spanish River Park. Great for hosting a barbeque or picnic, letting the kids run around at the playground, or just lounging about, residents can spend some time at the parks and if they're so inclined, they can head down to the beach afterwards as all of the parks are connected to the beach. Other popular activities held at the beach and parks that residents can partake in include games of volleyball, canoeing or kayaking, surfing, swimming, and snorkeling.
